Set in charming Downtown Charlottesville, The Baker's Palette is owned and operated by Sheila Cervelloni.
Hailing from the world renowned Culinary Institute of America,
she has traveled across the country, including
places like Aspen, Colorado and San Francisco, California to enhance her culinary skills. She has mastered
many baking mediums such as hotels, bakeries, grocery stores, restaurants, and even a college kitchen. She has
been exposed to a wide variety of techniques that allowed her to enhance her skills such as high altitude
baking. She had the great opportunity to help open a 5 star, 270 seat restaurant where the baking department
was up and running 22 hours a day. There, everything was made from scratch including English Muffins and
marshmallows! She has won several awards for her work with chocolate and has been published in a variety of
magazines and newspapers such as Esquire, Food Arts, and Travel & Leisure.
Here in Charlottesville, Virginia, her skills had been tested once again when she was asked to develop
non-gluten baked goods for a local coffee shop "Java-Java". She hit a homerun with her non-gluten pumpkin
muffins and chocolate biscotti. She continued to test and create new non-gluten pastries and baked goods and
now has banana-coconut muffins, brownies, scones, granola and chewy granola bars.
During the summers, you may have come to know her and her family as the donut people at the City Market, or
recognize her cinnamon buns and other breakfast pastries at local coffee shops. With such an overwhelming
response from the locals, she was encouraged to open her own bakery. Hence, her dream became a reality—"The
Baker’s Palette" opened on October 15, 2003 and is still going strong.
The Baker’s Palette continues to focus on quality and customer service.
